While hunting for a Crimson Razorcat south of Coronet last night I ran across a Giant Carrion Spat Nest. I tested a regular spat and found the meat to be quite good. So I began to harvest the nest in earnest. After killing the first spawn of about 6....I tickled the nest and about 5 popped out...and one was a GCS baby. I popped my hat on and masked scent and quickly tamed it. I then continued to finish the nest.
Once finished I decided to train the spat and release it. But I noticed, that even tho it was only level 1. I could saddle it. Just for the heck of it I did, and the saddle is bigger than the bird...Well, actually it isn't... :) But its a very comical sight to see such a small bird with a saddle on it.
I'm wondering now if the bird will grow normally ? I guess the best thing to do is just keep it for a while and see what happens. They are very tall and long legged when fully grown and just might make a nice ride.

A few days ago, I was out hunting for new pets and I happened to come across a Carrion Spat spawn. I noticed that there was a few adult GCSs roaming about, so just to satisfy my curiosity I call my GCS and had him stand next to one of the wild ones. The wild one made my GCS look like the runt of the bunch.

Thats interesting. I'll have to try that if I decide to let mine grow to its full size. I'm not sure how much truth there is to some advice I was given. But it seems to hold true. At least with the pets I've tested it on.
I was told that if I kept my pets healed, and I fed my pets every time I could get them to eat that they would grow larger. I always keep a crate of Pet food with me and feed my pets at every opportunity. My BE rancor is one that I have done this the longest with. I've stood him up beside two other fully grown BE rancors and he is a little bigger. He is only level 35, and the other Rancors were 41 and 50.
Even the owners of the other two rancors admitted that he looked a little bigger. Right now I'm running a test on two Mottled Wrix's I tamed at the same time from the same lair. They were exactly the same size when tamed and the only difference was color. I only fight them both at the same time so they get the same exposure outside my D-Pad. One I'm feeding every time I can get it to eat...And the other I only feed when it asks for food. The one I feed often is definitely larger. So now I'm curious to see how much difference there may be when they reach full maturity. or if the second Wrix will catch up.
I fought them last night on picket longhorns and Seething bol crushers and my last box before becoming MCH is halfway full. Heh..So close...But still so far away..... :) I need 640 AP points I think, but I already have 1200+ so I just need that last box. One or more good hunts should do it.

Congrats (almost) there K ! You'll have it in no time. I'm curious to hear about your experiment on size. If there's a way to grow em bigger, I'm all ears :D

I'll post the results here in the forum. My Shipwright Alt is really busy at the moment and my CH won't be getting too much online time for the next couple of days. But hopefully in the near future I'll get to Dathomir and beat up on some more Surefoot Brackasets. They give great XP and are easy to work to keep my pets safe. And give 170+ resources per animal.... :)
