now a far as my preference in PVE pets it's imple light armor high ham high kinetic and i'm happy, thats all i want. But for PVP what would be the better things to give it? Now those of you that do PVP know pets don't hardly do much 1 on 1 or 2 on 1, as a matter of fact if/when you get incapped yer pets a gonner soon after as well. What do you guys see is important in a PVP pet?

Hello,

i normally sell this kind of pets for PVP most:

- High Kinetic Resist
- High Blast/Energy/Stun Resistz
- No Vulnerable Resists
- Good specials like Strong Poison, Strong Disease,Knockdown
- Ranged attack if possible
- Light Armor (mostly not because people often want pets around level 23-35 and to combine these resists and the light armor mostly tend to create pets of level 40+)
- good HAM with equal ranged attributes
- High damage output with 0.4tohit or better and 2seconds and better

Bestseller pets are like the following prototype:

8k HAM
50-60% kinetic
40-60% energy
40-60% stun
40-60% blast
Rest of resists 10% and better
0.4 to hit
1.8-2.1 seconds
200 to 300dmg
2 good attacks like spoison or knockdown

I personally like the above template cloned into a squall most .. small litte killer-bunnies :)

I would argue that the diseases, poisons and knockdown are worthless in a PvP pet because they will not work on command. (Area versions do work so they are good.)

Relying on a pet to use its specials essentially means they are an added bonus, but not a reason to pick it.

Intimidate - Reduces damage by half.
Dizzy - By itself not big, but if you have a posture change yourself this is good.
Crippling Strike - Coupled with Dizzy this gives your pet a posture change attack.

Hi,

i agree .. i would order the paramters in the following manner:

1. Kinetic/Energy Resist - Most done damage types in game i think :)
2. High HAM
3. Light Armor
4. Stun/Blast Resist - For the bad boys using their stun weapons
5. High damage with good speed
6. Ranged attack
7. all the rest

Tell me if i am wrong .. its a first try to order them :) And yes, specials are only a goodie and not a must .

I would avoid pvp as a CH, but that's just me. I've duelled a couple CH's and there is no point with any resists on them, since smart pvpers don't bother with your pets they go straight to you, and unlike pve, you have no way of making them drawn to your pets, and there is no collision. Also pets don't hit for a damn in pvp, then again I'm part fencer, but still, I've never been hit by a pet in pvp. The only thing I can think of that would even be beneficial in a pvp pet is either area attacks that apply states, or things like intimidate that don't require a hit. And since you can't make them do that on command, I think it's still better to steer clear of pvp as a CH unless your other profs are really strong. Just my take on it though.

Bit of a moot point in my opinion... since a pet in PvP is currently as useful as a chocolate teapot.
Any PvPer with a clue will be delighted if you pull out a pet.. as it means you've wasted valuable points on a non-combat prof, while they are stacked to the roof. They will strike you down while your pet fails to scratch their armour.

Basically... if you want to PvP drop CH
